U.S. HealthTek Names Karen Saldaña COO
HAYMARKET, VIRGINIA – U.S. HealthTek, a leader in medical lab IT consulting, has named Karen Saldaña as COO of the company. Saldaña has been in the lab industry for over 25 years, having previously served as Director of Program Management at BioReference Laboratories. Prior to that, she was with Quest Diagnostics for 20 years in several roles including Project Manager of Client Services and Senior QMS Program Manager.
“Karen’s skillset and experience are well-known throughout the industry, and we feel lucky that she has joined U.S. HealthTek, especially at this exciting time when we’re expanding our team and our products and services,” says Cristy Reiter, CEO. “She possesses extensive experience and technical knowledge in laboratory operations, and her leadership and management skills will further enhance our team’s ability to serve clients.”
Saldaña has a BS in Molecular Biology from the University of Maryland and an MS in Bioinformatics from George Mason University. She is a PMP-certified Project Manager, Bioinformatics Programmer, and a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt. As a member of the Project Execution team within the U.S. Army’s LSS Program Management Office, Saldaña led projects that maintained the Army’s drive toward a culture of continuous improvement. She played a key role in the establishment of the LSS Excellence Award Program and standardization of Green Belt and Black Belt training materials.
